Computers are complex machines that seem simple & straightforward but that are hardly simple & never simple to fix. People have PC issues every day.
Some of the issues range from a simple freeze up to a more complex problem such as spyware. There are numerous parts of a computer that can cause you grief however some problems are self-induced. This is to say that the user does things that he or she may not realize that their doing & create a problem. There are three main things that you can do to stop yourself from having issues.
One problem that is very common is system crash. However a system crash can easily be self-induced if the computer is not shut down properly. Many people don’t realize that a hard shutdown is very bad for the computer itself. It’s hard on the components & can cause extra wear & tear that you don’t want on your machine. You should only use this method to shut a computer down if the computer is frozen & can’t be shut down in any other way. For normal shut downs you should use the shut down button on the start menu.
Another big problem emerges from software not installing properly.
Sometimes the computer will mess up in the installation procedure due to the file being corrupt or a disc being scratched. However in other cases a PC may not install a program correctly if you’re trying to do too much at once. We see this happen more often when we’re trying to burn a CD while playing a game surfing the web or doing various other tasks. While many computers have the computer components to handle doing the multitasking the computer can still create a disc that skips. The same concept goes towards installing programs. Not only do they tend to install slower but sometimes there can be an error that occurs during the install that the system won’t catch.
Most people that have a computer have the internet. Most people that have the internet will check email & download attachments or programs off of the internet at some point. While the internet is wonderful tool you can cause a lot of self-induced problems if you’re not cautious. More & more spam emails now contain viruses worms Trojans & many other types of malicious software that is designed to hurt your system or gather information for the creator. This is especially true if you’re downloading music or programs from websites that are not trusted sites such as Microsoft. You’ll have to be extra cautious that you don’t download the wrong program. If you do decide to download a file program or anything else for that matter you should have a program scan for viruses & spyware/malware. It’s not sufficient anymore just to have an anti-virus program. You will need a program that can scan for the other types of malicious programs as well. If you are just learning this information for the first time then make sure that everyone that you know considers these tips as computer basics. In the long run it will prevent problems for yourself & them.
